Any surface design (e.g. paint, lining, collage, etc.) should be added before your 3D decorations.
Our velvet lining has an adhesive backing – peel off the paper to secure it.
Take care to keep the hinges of your altar box clear of obstruction so it remains functional.

Use the extra length of twine to tie on decorations like floral bundles, bones, etc.
Moss and florals can be divided into smaller pieces to be distributed across your broom.
add a loop of wire or twine to the handle if you wish to hang your broom at home.
Find decorations such as old jewelry to add to your broom for further adornment

Test paint pens on scrap paper to check that the ink is flowing smoothly
If you make a mistake, quickly wipe the crystal with a paper towel and try again. If you are unable to wipe off the paint, try rinsing it with soap and water.
Use the booklet to list the significance of each rune and crystal in your set.
If using paint pens to embellish the drawstring pouch, we recommend putting a piece of scrap paper inside the pouch to prevent the paint from bleeding through the other side.

LEATHER CASTING MAT

Use a ruler to help position your design.
Tape will damage the surface of your mat– instead, use a clip to hold your stencils down while you work
Try etching into the leather with an etching pen/awl first, then paint over the etching after you remove the stencil.

Center your design(s) with a ruler.
If using a stencil, we recommend taping it down with washi tape to prevent it from shifting
Trace the design with a pencil, then remove the stencil.
If usin gpaint pens, test them on scrap paper to ensure that the paint is flowing smoothly
Attach your crystal and charm to the chain with a pair of pliers or similar tool

Moss and florals can be divided into smaller pieces for better distribution
Attach a loop of wire, ribbon or twine for hanging your wreath
Add objects of meaning from around your home to personalize your wreath even further

Pocket Grimoire

E6000 is the best adhesive when gluing your decorations on leather. Keep in mind that it will take a few minutes to set.
Certain book corners can be pinched on with pliers; others require E6000 glue.

Our velvet linings have adhesive backing– peel off the paper to apply.
Remember to keep the hinges and edges of the lid free of decoration if you want them to remain functional.
A hot glue gun works best (if you have one) for moss and other soft materials, while E6000 will create a more permanent bond on things like shells and crystals.

If recreating the Major Arcana, feel free to refer to the Ryder-Waite-Smith Tarot for symbolism ideas.
Paint pens and washi tape can be used to create decorative borders.
This is a craft that typically takes more than one crafting session to complete. Enjoy the process without any pressure to rush.

wand

Use acrylic paint pens to draw on the wand or even paint the body a different color. Allow it to dry for 2 minutes
Beware an unwieldy handle! As you add decorations, check that the grip remains comfortable; try wrapping it with something to protect it
Use either hot glue or wire wrapping to attach crystals to your wand.

WITCH BOARD

Use paint pens or washi tape to adorn the edges.
We recommend GENTLY taping the witch board stencil onto the board
Use a pencil to outline the letters, then remove the stencil and trace over the design with paint pens.
Affix decorations with E6000 glue. Allow the adhesive a few minutes to set (it will take 24 hours to fully cure).
If you are interested in collaging on your witch board, please be aware the planchette will not move smoothly over the collage.

To add arms to your witch doll, part the broomcorn body just under the elastic and insert the arm piece.
Hot glue is great for soft decorations. E6000 will form a strong bond between materials such as metal or crystal.
